Technology (and enterprise architecture) could have helped individual institutions understand their risk exposure. However, it was the aggregate risk that helped to cause the financial meltdown. So, I’m not certain that EA could have given insight in the aggregation scenario. Certainly, there’s still a lot of work for companies and governing bodies re: designing, implementing and managing an EA programme.
